Cochrane is proud to announce that Professor Prathap Tharyan, former director of Cochrane South Asia, has been awarded the Emeritus Membership of the Cochrane Collaboration for his long and committed contribution to the Cochrane Collaboration over many years.

"Emeritus Membership is a new initiative, launched to coincide with the Cochrane Collaboration’s 30th Anniversary, that acknowledges individuals who have made a significant, long-standing contribution to the leadership of the organization. It is awarded to those who have served in a significant leadership position, normally for a period of more than 10 years, and in that time have made an extraordinary contribution that exceeds the expectations of their role".
